THIRTEEN children have been hospitalised after a measles outbreak in Mkhankatho and surrounding villages in Libode, the Eastern Cape health department said yesterday.

"Of those admitted eight are toddlers and five teenagers," spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said.

A team of health workers had since been sent to villages in the area to vaccinate 700 children and 5000 villagers after it was detected on Wednesday.
