The provincial finance corporation had applied to the high court for the sequestration of Zulu's estate after he allegedly failed to pay a R5 million debt.
Yesterday morning neither Zulu nor his legal team was in court to submit the affidavits.
Acting Judge Wendy Hughes-Madondo adjourned the matter to Friday. She said the order was openended and did not specify a cut-off time by which Zulu had to submit the affidavit.
Hughes-Madondo asked Ithala's advocate, Ernest Crots, if "this was 'the' Mr Zulu", implying he was well-known.
Crots said they had not heard from Zulu.
Zulu and his former business partner, Ugaraja Pakkiri, were reportedly granted R5 million to buy an interest in Wart Timber Contractors in 2003.
The money was supposed to be paid back in 72 months.
The corporation also lent them a further R800,000 as working capital.
The money was not paid back within the stipulated time.
l Zulu is also on trial, charged with culpable homicide after his car was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Durban in 2008.
Zulu's BMW X5 allegedly crashed into a bakkie in which two members of the Soul's Harbour Ministries Church were killed and 10 others injured.
