The Test, which started yesterday, will be decided over two days of golf, with the majestic Leopard Creek Golf Club, near Malalane in Mpumalanga, adding to the challenge. The format of the competition will be four foursomes matches in the morning followed by nine singles matches in the afternoon on both days. Each match carries one point for a win or half a point each if the match is halved in regulation play. The team scoring the most points on conclusion of the competition wins.
"We have a mix of players from the Scottish Men's Elite Squad and our Development Squad, which is made up of juniors," said Spencer Henderson, the Scottish Golf Union National Junior (Under-18) coach and team manager.
The South African team comprises Ryan Dreyer (captain), Johan Bekker, JG Claassen, Jared Harvey, Riekus Nortje, Dean O'Riley, Aaron Russell, Tyrone Ryan and Danie van Tonder.
The Scottish team is made up of Mark Bookless, Glenn Campbell, Scott Gibson, Jack Macdonald, Steven McEwan, Kris Nicol, Greg Paterson, Paul Shields and Gordon Yates. - Sapa
