MPUMALANGA police are looking for the relatives of an alleged sex worker whose semi-naked body was found behind the house she had beenrenting out.

Police say the woman, who was known to other sex workers in Ermelo as JJ, was found at about noon on Saturday.

The lower part of her body was naked and she wore only a green top with black stripes.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Leonard Hlathi said the police also found two used condoms on the scene where the body was found.

"We suspect that the victim might have been raped and murdered afterwards," Hlathi said.

"Our suspicion is based on the manner in which the body was found.

"We also found used condoms at the scene."

He said the little information that was given to the police was that JJ was last seen on Friday night at about 8pm walking with three men who were believed to be possible clients.

"Her friends told our members that they did not know where JJ came from and what her full names were,"Hlathi said.

He said though she was a known sex worker, no one had the right or licence to kill her.

Hlathi asked anyone with information about the woman's murder or about her family or relatives to contact Captain Solomon Mthetwa on 083-237-7522 or Hlathi himself on 082-462-0804.
