A 62-YEAR-OLD man was beaten to death in Dutywa near Butterworth after being accused of stealing a sheep, Eastern Cape police said on Saturday.
"The community caught him last night (Friday), questioned him and then assaulted him," Captain Lingisile Magama said.
Magama did not have any details about the theft of the sheep.
"The community said they apparently had evidence against him," Magama said.
His body was loaded on to a wheelbarrow and dumped at his home. Police were summoned to the scene at 1am but no arrests were made. - Sapa
