AUCOR is preparing for what it believes will be the biggest auction to held in Africa.

The company will dispose assets of contractors who were involved in significant infrastructure construction projects and developments relating to the 2010 World Cup.

Aucor general manager of trucking and construction division Dewald van der Nest said: "We are working closely with banks, attorneys, liquidators and fleet managers and already have over 400 lots, and are adding to the stock every day as additional items are being cleared by the banks daily."

Already lined up for sale are graders, screening plants, crushers, cranes, bulldozers, trucks and trailers.

The auction will take place over two days - on March 17 and 18 at Denne Road, Jetpark, Gauteng, with bidding starting at 10.30am.
