VLADIMIR Vermezovic's brief moment of madness has landed him in serious trouble.

The Kaizer Chiefs coach's Oscar-winning stunt of storming the pitch during his club's Absa League match against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Loftus Stadium on February 24 hit him hard in the pocket.

The Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee, headed by prosecutor Zola Majavu, found the Serbian mentor guilty yesterday of bringing the league into disrepute.

Vermezovic was fined R50000, which was suspended for 12 months. He has also been given a one-match ban and was ordered to pay the cost of the sitting - approximately R21000.

For the record, Amakhosi beat Aces 2-0 on the day.

"The coach took his punishment very well. He even asked to address us and he said he was embarrassed by his own conduct. He accepted that what he did was wrong and he apologised," Majavu said.

Vermezovic was incensed after referee Buyile Gqubule blew for half time with midfielder George Lebese in a good position to score.

"VV", as the Serbian is known in football circles, had to be restrained by Chiefs player Mthokozisi Yende and the fourth official.

l Another case of bringing the league into disrepute, involving six Santos officials and players, was postponed until March 15. They were charged with unbecoming conduct towards referee Harry Lekitlane and their failure to provide adequate security for the referee.
