Warriors land sponsorship for the playoffs

AFRICAN Warriors' chairperson Jabu Khumalo has acquired a technical sponsorship from Umbro ahead of their battle to gain promotion to the Absa Premiership.

AFRICAN Warriors' chairperson Jabu Khumalo has acquired a technical sponsorship from Umbro ahead of their battle to gain promotion to the Absa Premiership.

Warriors qualified for the promotional playoffs after finishing second behind Black Leopards in the First Division Inland Stream. Apart from Leopards and Warriors, the playoffs will feature Nathi Lions, who finished second in the Coastal Stream, and Mpumalanga Black Aces, who ended the PSL season 15th on the log. The draw takes place today.

Khumalo said: "We believe that the technical sponsorship came at the right time because it will motivate us to work harder and get promoted."

Umbro representative Mark Byrne said their deal with the QwaQwa side was for the playoffs only.

l Johannesburg High School beat Rosina Sedibane High School 4-3 via penalties in a qualifier for the national Copa Coca-Cola Football Stars. Sedibane are the defending champions. Matshamo Secondary drew 3-3 with Khaiso but Matshamo proceeded to the national championships after defeating Khaiso 5-4, also on penalties, while LM Nkuna beat Thuto Thebe 1-0.
