Some people are unhappy about this, but if one cares for basic values and principles of governance and public administration, the call is fair and in line with the Constitution. Section 195 (1) (f) states the public servants must be accountable. Why are public officials averse to the call if they have nothing to hide?
People who are not guilty will not fear lifestyle audits.
Politicians and officials are elected by the masses, so they must prove that the public purse is being spent on projects intended for the poor and not toenrich themselves.
