IF YOU are looking for a good laugh, then the place to head to is the Parker's Comedy and Jive gig at Gauteng's Montecasino.

Parker's Comedy and Jive hosts a hot lineup of local and international comics this month.

It will include a series of special performances by The Bats and a benefit concert for veteran comic Eddie Eckstein.

Taking to the funniest stage in Africa this month are American comics Louis Ramey (March 4 to March 6 and March 11 to March 13), a finalist on the series of Last Comic Standing currently being broadcast on M-Net Series, and Yoursie Thomas (March 18 to March 20, and March 25 to March 27), along with M-Net's hugely popular Gary The Tooth Fairy, Celebrity Survivor star Darren Maule, quick-witted Al Prodgers and SA's Got Talent host Rob van Vuuren.

Atlanta-born and raised Ramey was bitten by the comedy bug at college. On a dare from his friends, he took to the stage to tell a few jokes at a local jazz club and was hooked immediately to the adrenaline rush of live performance.

Ramey set out wanting to conquer stages worldwide. He has successfully done so, at theatres, concert halls, comedy clubs, colleges, resorts, cruises and casino showrooms, from Atlanta to the West Indies to Australia and back.

He had a stint on NBC's Last Comic Standing and a spot on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Ramey has also opened for many music legends, including Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Smokey Robinson, Isaac Hayes, The Temptations and Donna Summer.
