We are alive to the reality that despite the grand stadiums built and many other prejudices conquered, there is still some work to be done.
Like Fifa secretary-general Jerome Valcke has said, we are under no illusions that we would be able to host the tournament if it were to start in the next 48 hours.
In many parts of the country, the roads are not so satisfactory. Some stadiums, such Mbombela, have had grass laid and relaid. But none of these should be thought torepresent a crisis.
With each passing day we are confident that we are on track for a memorable World Cup. We have achieved a lot and have plenty to be proud of. To the doubters, we say bring it on.
