The who's who of the acting industry descended on Soweto to support one of their own in the wedding .
POP and rock star Louise Carver has done an amazing song in collaboration with award-winning hip-hop singer Zulu Boy.
Titled Warrior, it is part of Carver's latest album, Look To The Edge, which was released halfway through last month.
With this album Carver wanted to achieve an edgier electronic and pop progression with an infusion of South African rhythms and percussion into her sound that would have a strong appeal to both local and internationalaudiences.
Carver wrote Warrior with a particular rhythm in mind and then combined Zulu drums with an exciting electronic sound to complete the song.
Born Mxolisi Majozi, Zulu Boy stood out as a great potential collaborator for Warrior, both to reinforce its message as well as to allow the musical reference to take its course.
His compelling rap and contribution to the percussive sounds in the song shot Warrior forward as the best way to introduce Look To The Edge in the market.
Carver explains: "I am so proud of Warrior. I wrote it to empower myself and anyone else who has felt humiliated or disempowered.
"The lyrics come from an inner strength and self-awareness I've developed as a musician. Having Zulu Boy feature in the song takes it to a new level. I hope Warrior will become a war cry for everyone who wants their voice heard."
Carver has enjoyed numerous accolades as a prominent South African contemporary musician in recent years.
She is also one of country's cross-over musicians with music that attracts a very wide audience. She has won several awards, among them the Most Stylish Entertainer of 2008 at the SA Style Awards.
Carver is also a youth ambassador for the Independent Electoral Commission.
