THE ANCYL in KwaZulu-Natal has hit out at critics who accuse politicians of being "tenderpreneurs" who want to enrich themselves through government tenders.
ANCYL provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo yesterday said those who made this allegations did not understand how the government tender system operated.
"A tender is a transparent open system used to invite service providers," he said.
Mtolo was responding to allegations by former Limpopo premier and now Cope leader Sello Moloto, that ANCYL leader Julius Malema was awarded government tenders illegally.
Mtolo described Moloto as "powerless and mentally bankrupt".
He said the ANCYL would defend Malema's right to do business with either the government or private sector.
