"When a woman abuses, psychologists, lawyers and police justify her actions with rationalisations that she is emotionally unstable, psychologically ill or acting out the effects of substance use.
"It therefore appears that the legal system, police system and mental health system are unable to conceive a woman that abuses," says Kramer.
