PLAYWRIGHT Martin Koboekae's first Setswana sitcom, Ga Re Dumele premieres on SABC2 next month.
The 13-episode sitcom is Koboekae's brainchild and will be screened from March 21, replacing Moferefere Lenyalong.
Actor Peter Mashego, who has acted in the comedy show Mponeng, will star in the sitcom.
"The funny story concerns a couple who don't want their last born daughter to get married," Koboekae said.
He said the idea of the show came to him a long time ago when he realised that Sesotho and isiZulu sitcoms were dominating the small screen.
"I have always been a funny person. Those who have read my novels will attest to that," he said.
"I love humour and this time I took it to another level when I came up with this television show."
Koboekae has written successful radio and stage plays as well as novels. His first novel, Taung Wells, was adapted as a radio play for SAfm.
The 22 episodes were broadcast on Mondays to Thursdays in November 2006. Another play, Suburban Grey Christmas, was broadcast on SAfm in December 2007.
They also broadcast two of his plays, Bush Tale and Third Coming. He also wrote the controversial theatre play called Biko: Where the Soul Resides.
The show came under attack for portraying Steve Biko's alleged womanising and drinking escapades.
He also wrote - Location 1976, Horror Scope, Mr Flat Nose, Of Cats andDogs and The Dream.
