THE seventh man on the Hawk's 10 most wanted criminals list has been arrested.

THE seventh man on the Hawk's 10 most wanted criminals list has been arrested.

Police said yesterday that Collin Maphalala - also known as "Chippa" or "Thabo" - has been positively linked to the robbery of R10million stolen from G4S's cash management centre in Boksburg in December last year.

"He was arrested in Volksrust, KwaZulu-Natal, on Monday. He was arrested during a combined operation between the Hawks and crime intelligence," Hawks spokesperson Superintendent Musa Zondi said.

"He has also been implicated in the R2million Thembisa cash-in-transit heist that happened in 2008. The Thembisa case involves one of the masterminds, Moeketsi Keke Masike, who was arrested earlier this year in Fourways. He is still in custody."

Zondi said following the arrest, Maphalala led the officers to his home in Ekurhuleni, where he had hidden R12400. "Police also confiscated a Golf 5 which was bought from the proceeds of the crimes."

Since January, the Hawks have arrested:

lFormer G4S employee Sibusiso Xulu.

Police believe he was instrumental in the company losing more than R4million in at least three incidents at Mandeni, Empangeni and Melmoth.

lZain Mahuta Sebata, linked to six cases, including bank robbery, house robbery, escaping from custody and possession of stolen property.

lDonald Duma Sigasa, linked to at least seven cash-in-transit heists dating back to 2001. They include robberies in Johannesburg in 2001, Tsakane in 2006, Thokoza in 2007, Boksburg North, twice in 2007, Eersterus in 2009, and Katlehong in 2009.

lJethros "Malombo" Mthembu and Josia "MaSeven" Nkosi.

Mthembu's trail of alleged crimes include the cash-in-transit robbery in which R2,7million was stolen in Flagstaff, Eastern Cape, in 2008. Explosives were used to blow up a cash van, killing one person.

Nkosi's alleged crimes include cash heists, murder, housebreaking and sexual offences. He is also a suspect in the murder of a special task force officer Inspector Mkhwanazi, murdered in November 2007.
