ERYKAH Badu has just released Window Seat - the lead single from her coming album New Amerykah Part Two: Return of The Ankh, reports her recording company, Universal Music.

The track is now available on iTunes and erykahbadu.com.

The Grammy winner's highly anticipated fifth studio album will be released on March 30.

Badu is a top African-American recording star and is popularly known as the Queen of Neo Soul.

Window Seat was produced by Badu and James Poyser - with Ahmir Thompson from The Roots on drums.

In contrast to 2008's New Amerykah, Part One: 4th World War, which was digitally produced and political, the latest album features live instrumentation, tapping into Badu's emotional side by focusing on her romantic relationships.

"With Part One, I was standing at an apex looking at what was going on around me politically, socially, and economically," Badu explained. "With Part Two I'm hovering over me, looking at what's going on inside of me."

Badu's new album features contributions from some of the most ground-breaking, underground producers, engineers and musicians in the hip-hop game, including including Grammy winners 9th Wonder and James Poyser, jazz bassist Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner - and the late J Dilla.

"We used a lot of analog instruments - harps, strings, drums, piano to give the album that sonic feel.

"There's a strong undercurrent , a rumbling to these songs that feels good to me.

"It feels like a hug," said Badu.
