Listening to Minister of Transport Sbu Ndebele on SAfm made me despondent. When asked whether he disputed claims that it is almost impossible to get a booking for a driver's licence in Gauteng, he made a complete hash of it. He tried in vain to defend the indefensible.
Speaking from experience, I can vouch to the indisputable fact that just attempting to get through to a person at the Gauteng centralised call centre is mission impossible. I felt dejected to hear the minister trying to spin rather than acknowledge failures and commit to decisively deal with the shortcomings.
