MAMELODI Sundowns' reserve goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has been thrown a lifeline to revive his international soccer career.
This was after the Transnet School of Excellence graduate was included in the African Nations Championship (ACN) team to play Lesotho in two games this week.
The first match against Likoena will take place in Maseru tomorrow and the second on Sunday. SA start their ACN qualifiers against Botswana next month.
Mabokgwane has done well for Majimbos and Amajita in various competitions.
The Ga-Manamela village, Moletjie-born Mabokgwane has has been with Sundowns for almost two seasons, though he has been ignored by the technical staff.
Safa communications director Morio Sanyane said the team will also represent SA at the ACN qualifier against Botswana next month. "A decision was taken by Safa to use our Under-23 players but most of them will be featuring for their clubs in the Nedbank Cup," he said.
