A BUSINESSMAN is living in fear for his life after allegations that his wife has hired hitmen to kill him.

The Mookgophong businessman says he has been receiving calls from unknown people threatening his life.

He said that the callers would even mention his wife's name, saying they would do it (kill him) for her.

He said problems started after he won a tender worth R8million for the electrification of extensions 5 and 6 in the area.

His wife allegedly started behaving strangely because of the deal. She allegedly took advantage of the fact that the company was registered in her name.

The businessman said the threats started on January 28, when he received two calls from people who told him they were after his blood. He said the callers told him to leave his wife alone if he still wanted to live.

Approached for comment yesterday, Fridah, 30, said she did not know why her husband had left their home.

"I'm still waiting for an explanation as to why he left our home."
