Cricket lot must go

IN THE wake of the sudden resignation of Mickey Arthur as national cricket coach, Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Gerald Majola should follow suit.

It has emerged that the CSA was unhappy that Arthur could not sustain the success the Proteas achieved in 2008. Fair enough.

If the CSA board of directors can force the coach to resign on grounds of poor performance, they must also take responsibility for the sorry state of cricket development and transformation and resign en masse.

It is under the tutelage of Majola that development and transformation have stalled.

No black player has come through the development ranks that can take the baton from Makhaya Ntini, let alone a batsman.
