Two to face murder rap

LEBOWAKGOMO police have arrested two men, aged 24 and 34, in connection with the brutal killing of a man after an alleged argument.

Captain Mamphaswa Seabi said the incident took place on Saturday in Makurung village in GaMphahlele.

Seabi said the victim, Albert Mphahlele, had allegedly had an argument with the two men who had assaulted him.

"Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased was beaten to death after an argument," he said.

Seabi said the two men were arrested a short while later and would appear in the Thabamoopo magistrate's court soon.

"As police we will make sure that anyone who takes the law into their own hands is brought to book and that justice takes its course," Seabi said.

In another incident, police in Lebowakgomo have opened an inquest docket after Schalk Engelbrecht, 28, was found dead on Friday, allegedly in a company truck.

Seabi said preliminary investigations revealed that Engelbrecht had gassed himself but that the real cause of death was still being investigated.
