Tshwane uproar

THE Freedom Front Plus has vowed to take "all possible legal steps" to retain Pretoria's name.

THE Freedom Front Plus has vowed to take "all possible legal steps" to retain Pretoria's name.

"The civil rights initiative, AfriForum, will meet with senior advocates in Pretoria tomorrow morning (today) to consider legal steps with which the registration of Tshwane as place name can be set aside," FFPlus chief executive officer Kallie Kriel said yesterday.

This after Arts and Culture Minister Lulu Xingwana used Tshwane as a name for Pretoria in the Government Gazette published last Friday.

The FFPlus's legal representative, Willie Spies, said Xingwana's action spoke of "blatant malice". - Sapa
