Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Thembi Seete may not have bet on the winning horse at the annual J&B Met horse racing event, but she and "partner" Henri Slier sure walked away with the most sought-after prize.
Seete and Slier, who did not know each other until Saturday, came together because of their complementary outfits. Seete wore a short blue dress with an elaborate and creatively-designed skirt by Gert Jan Coetsee.
She looked lean and tall in blue sandals and a few chiffons stringed together into a fascinating and stylish hat. After agreeing to team up for the Best Dressed Couple at Kenilworth, Seete and Slier were bound to win the big prize.
Slier wore blue pants, a white shirt, red tie and red shoes com pleted by a colourful jacket that emphasised the colours on Seete's hat.
They made a striking couple and it was obvious that they would win.
Chuffed and still excited about winning the top prize - a trip to Mauritius - that includes hampers from L'Oreal and Police sunglasses, Seete gushed: "It came as a surprise as I have never won anything as exciting as this."
The only other prize she ever won was the "Ellemagazine fashion award I won with Lebo Mathosa about eight years ago", Seete said.
"I don't even mind the three nerve-wracking hours we had to wait for the results.
"It was worth it. To think I just entered for the fun of it."
Their trip to Mauritius is on May 10.
