ONE of the Gauteng's premier events, the Poker Champs Tournament, is back again and looking big this year.
With an estimated prize pool in excess of R2million, the tournament will take place at La Toscana at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg, from March 26 to 28.
Famous pop and R&B star Danny K will not be part of the tournament this year as reported earlier.
Montecasino tables manager Adam MacIntyre says: "At Montecasino we have an impressive list of accolades, including best casino, best entertainment complex and best place to take out-of-towners over the past few years, and the addition of our exclusive Poker Suite and planned Poker Tournament in 2010 will only further entrench our status as the leader in 'gamer-tainment'."
The Montecasino Poker Champs Tournament will take the format of No Limit Texas Hold'em, Freeze out. Entry into the main event is R15000 and entries are capped at 150 seats.
There is an opportunity for players to earn their seats in the main event should they have the skills, satellites to the tournament are available now in the Poker Suite, with the winners securing their chance to compete for the title.
