RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazilian forward Robinho visited his new Santos team mates before their 2-0 win over Oeste that took them top of the Paulista championship.

Robinho, pictured, arrived in Brazil on Saturday to begin a six-month loan spell with Santos from English Premier League side Manchester City.

"Amid a climate of much happiness and relaxation, the star Robinho made a surprise visit to the King Pele Training Centre this Saturday afternoon," Santos said on their website (www.santosfc.com.br).

The 26-year-old asked City new manager Roberto Mancini for the loan move in a bid to improve his chances of making Brazil's 2010 World Cup squad after struggling in England.

Robinho's official presentation at the club where he started his career, and with whom he won the Brazilian championship in 2002 and 2004 before joining Real Madrid, will be on Monday.
