Seoe not done yet

BLACKY Seoe has promised to renew his promoter's licence with Boxing South Africa (BSA).

BLACKY Seoe has promised to renew his promoter's licence with Boxing South Africa (BSA).

Seoe gave this assurance to Sowetan yesterday.

Though Seoe left boxing, leaving Palesa Mosiea to manage Robs Promotions, the promotion house still has a valid licence. That is why BSA had no qualms about allowing it to stage a tournament in Bloemfontein last Friday. Seoe said his departure was prompted by his failure to get television dates with the SABC, despite having champions in his stable.

"I have decided that it will be best for me to renew my licence so that I can fight these battles when I am in the sport," he said.

l We erroneously reported yesterday that promoter Branco Milenkovic was interested in bidding on behalf of Ali Funeka for the IBF lightweight title bout.

For the record, Milenkovic was persuaded by Funeka's manager Butityi Konki to bid for his charge. Milenkovic reluctantly did so and won the bid.
