COPE in Greater Letaba, Limpopo, has deposed Benny Moshobane as chairperson.
Moshobane is accused of failing to attend sub-regional committee meetings and of being an ANC spy. He was fired, by letter, as party chairperson on Sunday.
Cope's Charles Seale said members of the party's sub-regional committee at Mahekgwe village alleged that Moshobane might have been deployed by the ANC to spy on their party.
Approached for comment, Moshobaneneither confirmed nor denied that he was returning to the ANC. He said the media and public should wait until they were formally informed about his future political intentions.
