Swallows-Chiefs date moved forward

MOROKA Swallows' Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs will take place on February 2 at Dobsonville Stadium. The initial date was February 3.

Swallows' brand manager Siya Sangweni said the change could be to give teams enough time to prepare for continental competitions. The Birds will play Mauritian side Pamplemousses in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup next month.

"We are looking forward to the Chiefs match and we have been hard at work in our preparations," he said.

Tickets are R25 for adults and R10 for juveniles. Swallows are hoping to complete a double against Amakhosi in the league this season after winning the first round 2-1.

Sangweni said the technical team had worked tirelessly to get the players in top condition.

"We have played a number of friendlies against Mpumalanga Black Aces, Pirates and a Mozambican team called Sero Viaria. We will take on SuperSport United on Saturday at Super Stadium at 10.30am."
