THEUNIS Crous, 51, was born in Port Elizabeth.
The ANC-aligned businessman and his wife Primrose own Ho Hup Corporation, a constructioncompany.
The company was incorporated in 2006 and has head offices in Port Elizabeth.
Crous is a former deputy chairperson of the ANC's Tsitsikama region. In May 1998 he resigned, citing widespread inefficiency and the unwillingness of committee members to discipline ANC councillors.
At one stage he was a business partner of former ANC regional chairperson and former Eastern Cape education MEC Stone Sizani.
The projects his company is involved in in Port Elizabeth are at Livingstone Hospital, Kwanozamu, Dukathole, Motherwell, Kruisfontein. He is also involved in international projects in Madagascar and Malaysia.
Crous loves fast cars and hip-hop music. His favourite artists are Akon, 50 Cent, 2Pac and Timbaland.
He bought his first Porsche in 1983 when he was 25. Nine months ago, he moved from PE to the upmarket surburb of Dainfern in Johannesburg.
He has two kids aged two and three with Primrose.
