Time for SACP to respectthe ANC

I THINK now is the time for the SA Communist Party to acknowledge the national liberation character of the ANC and respect its economic policies.

I THINK now is the time for the SA Communist Party to acknowledge the national liberation character of the ANC and respect its economic policies.

For them to try and embarrass the ANC delegation at their annual conference in Polokwane earlier on was a clear indication of arrogance based on political and ideological ignorance and their idiotic understanding of what the ANC stands for.

The time has come for ANC branches and structures to rise up and tell the truth, only the truth, about our glorious movement, which is under communist attack and vilification.

One of their leaders recently claimed that "those who continue to attack the SACP are nothing but individuals who want to advance a capitalist agenda and enrich themselves". This is an empty insinuation that tries to divert our focus in defending the ANC.

This is the tendency in almost all provinces and regions where pro-ANC defenders and members are always shouted down when they address meetings of the SACP or Young Communist League.

The best way of preventing ANC members from preaching ANC policies at alliance meetings, it seems, is to simply to disrupt the meeting.

The ANC Youth League is correct, the defence of the ANC lies with you. Having graduated from the ANC youth struggles, the ANC Youth League in particular, I do not remember the ANCYL being an SACP agent delivering a communist agenda.

I think some comrades misread the mood and thought that after Polokwane 2007 the ANC would be easily turned into a communist organisation.

Tough luck.
