Villagers want murder suspects' families out

THE families of the four murder suspects who allegedly killed a Kgwekgwe-Matsebeleng chief's assistant and mutilated his body will have to leave the village or face forced removal.

This was decided at an emotionally charged meeting in Bolobedu-Bolobathaba this week.

The meeting was attended by chiefs, businessmen, politicians, community development workers and villagers.

The angry residents, who threatened to remove the suspects' families from the village, gave them until next week Sunday to leave the area.

"We want them out of the village or we will take the law into our own hands. We can't afford to harbour criminals in our area," Peter Masedi said.

Herman Maloko, a local businessman, said he was prepared to pay for transport to ferry residents and the bereaved family members to court for justice to prevail.

"We want to support the bereaved families until the accused are sent to jail," Maloko said.
