THE outstanding matric results in Limpopo will be announced at the Bolivia Lodge outside Polokwane today.
The announcement will coincide with the official recognition of districts, circuits, schools and individual pupils who performed well last year.
The Limpopo education department will give a breakdown of the outstanding matric results in various categories.
The National Education Department's failure to release the results last week, owing to technical glitches in the system, affected the release of results in Limpopo, Kwa-Zulu-Natal and Eastern Cape .
About 9939 of the Grade 12 pupils from Mopani, Capricorn, Waterburg, Vhembe and Sekhunkhune regions did not get their results when others received them last Thursday.
Limpopo education MEC Namane Dickson Masemola said the problem badly affected 65 schools that did not get their results at all when other pupils' results were announced.
"We are now proud to announce that all the outstanding learners' results will be released and that the 1402 examination centres that were also affected are now sorted."
Masemola called on the schools, principals and school governing bodies and parents of those who did well to come on Friday to share this proud moment for the province.
Limpopo has performed dismally for six consecutive years since 2004.
Masemola, who has been in office for five months as MEC, said they would deal harshly with teachers and pupils who did not do their work as expected from the first day of the school opening.
"They must just know that they are going to be watched because we are going to monitor their schools and their work 24/7 and ensure that all hands are on deck,' Masemola said.
