JERUSALEM - Israeli police yesterday arrested nuclear whistle-blower Mordechai Vanunu for violating a ban on speaking to foreigners, a police statement said.

Vanunu was jailed in 1986 and served 18 years for discussing his work as a technician at Israel's Dimona nuclear reactor with a British newspaper.

After his release in 2004 authorities barredVanunu from travelling abroad, alleging he has more details on the Dimona atomic reactor. - Reuters
