CHIPOLOPOLO have recalled former Orlando Pirates ace midfielder Isaac Chansa, above, for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Angola next month.

Zambia's French coach Herve Renard has named a 30-member squad, leaving out experienced Germany-based defensive midfielder Andrew Sinkala.

Also ignored for the continental soccer spectacle is Clifford Mulenga, who is playing in South Africa for struggling Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Renard surprised all and sundry by including inactive Fwayo Tembo in the squad, which has six South African-based players.

The Katongo brothers, Christopher and Felix, as well as Collins "Ntofontofo" Mbesuma, will be making their third appearance in the finals of this tournament.

Chansa is excited to have been included in the team, adding they were determined to qualify for the knockout stages this time round.

In Ghana last year, Zambia were eliminated in the first round.

"Our target is to reach the knockout stages, which will help ease the pressure. From there anything can happen," said Chansa, who plays for Helsinborg in Sweden.

"We have what it takes to go all the way to the final."

Football Association of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya said they were looking forward to doing well in Angola, urging his country to rally behind the team.

The team is:

Goalkeepers - Rabson Muchelang'anga (Power), Kennedy Mweene (Free State Stars), Kalililo Kakonje (AmaZulu), Davy Kaumbwa (Buffaloes), Jacob Banda (Zesco United) and Joshua Titima (Zanaco).
