Drogba, Kalou lead charge

THE Chelsea pair of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will lead Ivory Coast's attack as they try to capture the elusive Africa Cup of Nations trophy in Angola next month.

THE Chelsea pair of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will lead Ivory Coast's attack as they try to capture the elusive Africa Cup of Nations trophy in Angola next month.

Drogba and Kalou were named in Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodzi's Afcon squad that also includes former Mamelodi Sundowns star Siaka Tiene.

Tienne is based in France where he is playing for Valenciennes. Asec Mimosas goalie Vincent De Paul Angban is the only Ivory Coast-based player in the team.

The Elephants begin their Group B campaign on January 11 against fellow World Cup finalists Ghana as well as Burkina Faso and Togo.

The Ivory Coast squad is:

Goalkeepers - Boubacar Barry (Lokeren, Belgium), Aristide Zogbo (Maccabi Netanya, Israel), Vincent De Paul Angban (Asec Mimosas).

Defenders - Kolo Toure (Manchester City, England), Emmanuel Eboue (Arsenal, England), Guy Demel (SV Hamburg, Germany), Souleman Bamba (Hibernian, Scotland), Benjamin Angoua Brou (Kispest Honved, Hungary), Arthur Boka (VfB Stuttgart, Germany), Abdoulaye Meite (West Bromwich Albion, England), Siaka Tiene (Valenciennes, France).

Midfielders - Yaya Toure (Barcelona, Spain), Didier Zokora (Sevilla, Spain), Emmanuel Kouamatien Kone (International Curtea of Arges, Romania), Cheik Ismael Tiote (FC Twente, Holland), Emerse Fae (Nice, France), Jean-Jacques Gosso Gosso (AS Monaco, France).
