THIS weekend Durban will host the MTN Durban Jazz Festival.
Themed Welcoming the Spirit of 2010, it will dazzle jazz lovers with a great line-up that includes Lira, Theo, Thandiswa, Busi Mhlongo, Ringo, Caiphus Semenya, Dorothy Masuku, Sipho Hotstix Mabuseand Harare, and African Jazz Pioneers.
Now in its seventh year, the festival, which takes place on Saturday at the Hazelmere Dam, is not only about entertaining jazz lovers but also about giving back to people in need.
Veli Mabena, general manager for brand and communications at MTN, said: "We're committed to supporting South African music and its talent and to give back to the less fortunate.
"With the MTN SA Foundation's assistance we've chosen Cotlands KZN, an organisation that takes care of orphansed and vulnerable children, as the beneficiary for our project."
