This after the Egyptian government announced yesterday that it would prevent a global group of activists from crossing its border into the Gaza Strip on New Year's Eve.
Kasrils and 1360 others are members of the "Gaza Freedom March" which plans to march peacefully into Gaza with the aim of opening the border for the 1,3million Palestinians trapped inside the Gaza Strip.
About 2000 Israeli peace activists will attempt to march through the heavily guarded Erez checkpoint between Gaza and Israel at the same time as the international group attempts to enter Gaza from Egypt.
An angry Egyptian ambassador in Pretoria, Dr Mohamed Zayed, told Sowetan the Egyptian authorities would not open the border. "This group wants to demonstrate and they didn't follow the rules."
