SIX people will appear in various courts in Mpumalanga on Monday to face charges ranging from murder to rape, police said.

Superintendent Abie Khoabane said a 24-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stabbing another man to death with a broken bottle.

The man was stabbed in the neck while trying to break up a fight between the suspect and a third man. He died in hospital.

The suspect will appear in the Kabokweni magistrate's court on Monday to face a charge of murder.

In another incident three men were arrested for allegedly assaulting and shooting their employer in Nelspruit on Saturday.

The men accused their employer of stealing their property. They were arrested and will face assault charges in the Nelspruit magistrate's court on Monday.

In Balfour a man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, 25, to death on Saturday.

Another man was arrested for allegedly raping a 40-year-old woman in Tweefontein at the weekend after he invited her to his house. - Sapa
