KAIZER Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has accepted that his team's title hopes now depend on other teams' results .
He was reacting after Chiefs' 1-2 defeat at Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
"Losing one game doesn't mean we are out of the race. There are seven more games to play. Anything is possible, but I must say that it's not our result now. We are depending on other teams to do the job for us," he said.
But Vermezovic said he was impressed by the fighting spirit displayed by his team "though it was not enough".
"We need experience," he pointed out. "We will have to win against AmaZulu to go on holidays on a positive note."
Sundowns showed their intentions early as they forced two corners in the first three minutes.
On both occasions Chiefs keeper Itumeleng Khune had to make daring saves.
On the 20th minute, Katlego Mphela headed wide from a free-kick by Elias Pelembe.
Mphela finally broke the deadlock on the 35th minute after capitalising on a defensive error by Lawrence Molekwane .
Josta Dladla, however, got Chiefs level when he converted a penalty just before half-time. Downs, though, deserved the points and found the winning goal through Siyanda Xulu 12 minutes from time.
