THE tyranny of relativism would dictate that we accept that certain acts committed in accordance with some cultures in different parts of the world are beyond our commenting on.

Earlier this month, Uganda announced a proposed new law that would allow for homosexuals to be sentenced to death for being gay and their families and friends to be jailed for up to seven years if they did not report them to the authorities.

While we were still recovering from this shock, our media saw pictures of Mohamed Abukar Ibrahim being buried before being stoned to death after his being convicted of adultery.
