No matter who was booed the loudest, the fact that they represented the ANC means the SACP is effectively biting the hand that feeds it.
The SACP resorted to the politics of personalities by using the congress to target those they dislike. They demonstrated that they have arrived and the ANC must dance to the SACP's tune.
The incident has exposed how hypocritical the alliance is. Wearing too many hats once again proved to be very divisive.
ANC general secretary Gwede Mantashe went to the congress solely as SACP chairperson. He refused to be seen or quoted as an ANC office bearer. He will never represent the ANC within the alliance because he is a commie chairperson.
And Blade Nzimande, SACP general secretary and ANC NEC member, reaffirmed his authority as the party 's most powerful individual. He has ensured that he is at the ANC 2012 elective conference in Mangaung.
The ANC's choice of representatives was interesting to say the least. Of the 10 , they sent Malema and Billy Masetlha, the biggest critics of the SACP in the ANC post-Polokwane. They also sent Tokyo Sexwale, who is viewed by the Left as representing capitalist interests.
But then booing is not strange in alliance politics. When a p resident and ANC leader was booed in Durban three years ago it was not seen as a crisis . No one was taken to task . It's a question of reaping what you sow. The alliance is slowly heading for disaster because of the politics of individuals.
