Divisions rock ANCYL in Limpopo

THE leadership of the ANC Youth League in Limpopo is living on borrowed time after three out of five regions passed a motion of no confidence in their leaders.

The Lehlogonolo Masoga-led league has been accused of lacking leadership and causing divisions within the ANCYL.

The Sekhukhune, Waterberg and Peter Mokaba regions yesterday lambasted the current provincial executive council and called for its disbandment.

The regions called for the league's national executive council to send a team to the province with the sole mandate to disband the Limpopo ANCYL provincial executive council (PEC).

They also accused the PEC of being silent on the treatment of ANCYL president Julius Malema during the SACP special congress in Limpopo last weekend.

Sowetan understands that the two remaining regions - Mopani and Vhembe - have distanced themselves from the call by the other regions and reaffirmed their support for Masoga.
