Hello Kitty is in town

WHO doesn't remember Hello Kitty? The iconic cat is turning 35 but she never really ages. She has become one of the most desirable toys on the planet.

WHO doesn't remember Hello Kitty? The iconic cat is turning 35 but she never really ages. She has become one of the most desirable toys on the planet.

Her unique "take me home and love me" appeal has made this cuddly feline in her red bow and blue overalls beloved of children and adults alike.

The good news is that Kitty has left her home in Japan far behind and is destined to make an appearance in SA to commemorate her birthday.

And, sitting between a bottle of milk and a pet goldfish, she couldn't look cuter for her birthday celebration.

She will be visiting another icon, the immortal "teddy bear", at Build-A-Bear Workshop outlets across the country.

To mark her guest appearance at the stores, she will be showing just how gracefully she has aged and will be wearing in her "pawsitively" fabulous 35th anniversary Hello Kitty dress, a pink and black satin creation with a rhinestone bow.

Hello Kitty has come a long way since her first appearance on a plastic coin purse. She will be in Build-A-Bear Workshop stores from today, so come along and say "hello" to this famous kitty.

While you are there, you can personalise her with clothing and accessories to make the ultimate Christmas gift. - Andrea Nagel
