Twenty-eight female guards were unfairly dismissed by a security company because the client‚ Metrora.
A 61-YEAR-OLD man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend, a sentence her family says is too lenient.
Lebogang Chocho was sentenced for murder, robbery and pointing of firearm convictions by Johannesburg high court Judge Boyce Mbha on Monday.
"I think the judge was just feeling sorry for him because Chocho is 61 years old, but it is not fair, it gives a wrong impression that women can just be killed. I haven't found closure, not yet," said the deceased niece Tshidi Monamedi.
In 2007, Chocho went to his ex-girlfriend Nana Monametsa's house in Diepkloof, Soweto, and shot her dead.
Monametsa, a mother of two, and her domestic worker were in her garage when Chocho showed up and ordered them to be quiet.
The domestic worker managed to run away but Monametsa was not so lucky.
Chocho also stole her car and used it to flee from the police and angry community members.
