Born Shad Gregory Moss, the young rapper spoke toSowetan in Rosebank, Johannesburg, yesterday. He said "Joburg was no different" from US cities.

"When I arrived I called my friends at home and told them that Joburg was like Miami or Los Angeles. People here also have Lamborghinis and beautiful houses.

"Actually many things here are similar to what we have back at home.

"I know I can survive here and any American can. I also like the weather. It reminds me of Miami."

After performing at the Big Brother finale at the Sesani Studios, Johannesburg, on Sunday night, Bow Wow is now looking forward to doing a show at Bassline, Newtown, on Friday. The singer will share the stage with rap artists Pro and Jozi.

"I cannot wait to do what I do best, which is performing," he said.

"Whenever I am given an opportunity to be on stage I feel at ease. I like connecting with my fans and that is where I belong."

Bow Wow praised local rappers who would share the stage with him were talented performers.

"I met the guys on Sunday and I think they are cool. I had the chance to watch Pro's video and he's good."

The rapper took some time off on Monday to go to the Joburg Zoo. He was overwhelmed at seeing lions at such close range.

"Unlike in Miami, where we see them behind glass."

Yesterday the singer flew to Cape Town for another performance before going to Mozambique.
