CRICKET South Africa chief executive Gerald Majola clarified the situation regarding the postponement of the Test section of the Proteas' tour of India next year.
"The decision was taken by the two countries at the time of the ICC CEC (chief executives committee) meeting in June this year when it became clear that it would not be possible to have a full-length tour including both Tests and ODIs because of the heavy commitments of both countries," he said yesterday. "In addition to the IPL there is also the ICC World Twenty20 to be played in the Caribbean next year.
"The Test series between South Africa and India on the subcontinent will be rescheduled to a suitable gap in the playing calendars of both countries."
