World Cup draw gets on the ball!

South Africa's home-grown superstar will join Fifa's secretary general Jérôme Valcke in hosting the 90-minute programme - airing on all local channels - which will place the 32 international finalists into four groups for the tournament that starts on June 11.

Also in attendance will be top athlete Haile Gebrselassie from Ethiopia - joined by an array of global celebrities including England star David Beckham - at the International Convention Centre at 7pm.

Defender Matthew Booth will stand in for Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena, whose UK club Portsmouth reportedly refused to release him as they play a premiership match on Saturday.

Fifa has confirmed that cricket star Makhanya Ntini and Springbok captain John Smit will act as draw assistants.

President Jacob Zuma and Fifa boss Sepp Blatter will welcome the audience at the glittering event that will be watched by a worldwide TV audience.

Former president Nelson Mandela will deliver a recorded message.

CAF president Issa Hayatou, Nobel Peace Prize winners FW de Klerk and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, soccer icons Franz Beckenbauer (Germany), Michel Platini (France), Mozambican-born Eusebio (Portugal) and Roger Milla (Cameroon) will also be there.

Grammy award winners Soweto Gospel Choir, singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo from Benin and South Africa's Johnny Clegg will top the bill.
