Bafana Bafana star Benni McCarthy has scored big ahead of the Fifa World Cup draw on Friday.
McCarthy, pictured, who plays for Blackburn Rovers in Britain, has been roped in as a CNN soccer analyst, Sowetan can reveal.
He will join CNN chief sports correspondent Pedro Pinto and former Dutch footballer Ronald de Boer to provide analysis of the live 2010 World Cup draw on Friday.
Pinto and De Boer will cover the draw live from Cape Town, while McCarthy will be at the CNN studios in London.
Friday's coverage is part of a special CNN reportage on the Fifa World Cup in South Africa by the global network's international reporters - Pinto, Nkepile Mabuse, Christian Purefoy, Robyn Curnow and David McKenzie. The correspondents have been focusing on the tale of the African road to 2010, live from Cape Town, with daily reports since Monday.
"The Friday coverage will include an interview with Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke," said CNN.
