ANC infighting embarrassing

I AM an ANC member, but it is embarrassing to read about the leadership's petty fighting.

Tokyo Sexwale and Lindiwe Sisulu were in Thabo Mbeki's unit in Swaziland and both are also staunch supporters of President Jacob Zuma. Now they are fighting over minor issues, such as who changed Housing Department to Human Settlement and who started demolishing and rebuilding low quality RDP housing. This is low stuff, honourable ministers.

It is well-known that the relationship between Minister Nathi Mthethwa and his deputy Fikile Mbalula is very sour. Of course Mbalula is using Julius Malema to oust Gwede Mantashe in 2012. The war between them has absolutely nothing to do with reducing crime.

We also saw Minister Jeff Radebe interfering in the Transnet-Siyabonga Gama saga, undermining Minister Barbara Hogan. Malema attacks everyone who annoys him - Mbeki, Kgalema Motlanthe, Zola Skweyiya, Matthew Phosa, Naledi Pandor, Jeremy Cronin and all the other communists.

Tensions run high in Eastern Cape, North West and Western Cape.

Cosatu and the SACP are questioning Zuma's slow policy shift to the left and the ill-treatment of Bobby Godsell in the Eskom saga.

In the Lusikisiki district, ANC members bring guns to branch meetings.

All this embarrasses us and the president must deal with the post-Polokwane divisions. We thought that Zuma would be the glue that would unite the ANC post-Mbeki.
